Jerrod Watson was born in North Dakota and spent his childhood in Montana and Alaska. His father introduced him to hunting by taking him on an antelope hunt in Wyoming at age 8. He was introduced to waterfowl and upland game birds when he was 10 years old. Jerrod combined his passion for hunting and love for dogs together when he was 22 and began training retrievers. Today, Jerrod loves watching retrievers work just as much as waterfowl hunting. He enjoys hunting in various places around Colorado and loves to work and train his dog in the mountain streams at their family cabin in Pitkin, Colorado. As his children grow, Jerrod looks forward to being able to have them experience waterfowl hunting in other parts of the United States.

Jerrod and his wife Robin have four children: their son Cole, daughter Haley, and twin girls, Morgan and Molly. They all enjoy various aspects of the outdoors together including hiking, riding ATV's, photography, and fishing.

Jerrod not only brings his passion for hunting to Avery's Pro-Staff, he brings and incredible amount of professional people skills and enthusiasm. His position at State Farm Insurance affords him the opportunity to train and speak in front of others on a regular basis. His ability to relay product knowledge and create enthusiasm about that product will be an integral part in promoting the Avery product line at shows, events, and in the field.
