Mark Wardlaw has been waterfowling and training retrievers for nearly three decades. Growing up on Kentucky Lake near Camden, Tennessee provided him with unparalleled opportunities to hunt and fish as a youngster. Following in the footsteps of his grandfather's Mississippi Delta roots, waterfowling has always been his favorite pastime and obsession. In 1979 Mark took his first duck with the old Remington Model 11 passed down from his grandfather. Through his college years at Ole Miss, Mark spent winters guiding for a club near Stuttgart, Arkansas.

After graduation the traveling sportsman began his journey. During the next 15 years Mark had the opportunity to live in 10 different states, exploring the hunting and fishing all the way from Alaska to Georgia.

During this time a few trusty black Labradors accompanied Mark on his journeys. Training the retrievers to "get his ducks" was advanced to the next level when Mark became a professional trainer in 1998. For the next 5 years Mark worked with many of the top field trial pros in the country. In 2003 Mark returned to West Tennessee when he purchased his current farm and began operation of his total retriever training center, Delta Retrievers, near Alamo, Tennessee.

Today Mark balances his time between his family, waterfowling and training retrievers for various events around the country. He always enjoys meeting new people and hearing their best duck and retriever stories.
