Rick Stawski
Rick was introduced to waterfowl hunting at a young age by his dad. That early start fueled a passion that has spanned 40 years. Rick has turned that love for hunting into a career of trainings retrievers and being a waterfowl guide. Rick began his professional dog training career in 1990 with Wayne Curtis of Fox Hollow Kennels. In 1992 Rick and his lovely wife Barb established Fine Line Retrievers which is now located in Milaca, Minnesota. Over the years they have developed the property into one of the finest dog training facilities in the country. He has built a pretty impressive resume with over 80 Qualified All Age dogs and 20+ Field Trial Champions to his credit. Rick is proud of his Field Trial accomplishments but his greatest joy is in training some of the finest hunting companions that can be found in the blinds, pits, and flooded timber of North America. Besides dog training Rick is an avid waterfowler who has competed in several duck calling competitions. He has hunted and guided in 3 Canadian Provinces, Arkansas. Missouri, Illinois, Nebraska, and his home state of Minnesota. Each year he looks forward to the time he gets to spend with his good friends working as a guide at Allen-Curtis Wildfowl Adventures. Rick has combined with Shawn Stahl and they have produced the Fowl Dogs video series. By using actual dog training segments, Rick shows you the proper foundation to train your own retriever. He has developed an extremely efficient and effective training program and enjoys sharing his knowledge thru this video series. His experiences as both a Dog Trainer and Waterfowl Guide make him a valuable addition to the Avery Pro-Staff.
