Eric was raised in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin located just outside the Horicon Marsh. His family relocated to Green Bay when he was nine and he has resided there ever since. His hunting and fishing obsession began as soon as he could hole a pole or gun. He shot his first geese when he was 12 in the Horicon Marsh with his father. That is when he became addicted to waterfowl and the outdoors. Throughout everything his father has been a role model and influence to the outdoors. He has acquired most of his knowledge and skill from him.

After graduating high school Eric attended Northeast Wisconsin Technical College in Green Bay. He received a degree in Machine Tool Operation-Machinist (CNC-Auto Cad Design). His instructor at college was a three-time WI state goose calling champion. On occasion he would talk about goose calling or hunting and this really interested Eric, after hearing him call and seeing a few of his videotapes Eric decided to go on a hunt with him. He turned out to be Eric's so called "mentor" and/or "teacher" of waterfowl hunting and goose calling. From that time forward he has become totally addicted to the entire sport of waterfowl hunting and anything related to it. Everything he knows about waterfowling Eric owes to the guys he hunts with for taking him under their wing.

Currently Eric works for SBC the local phone company in Wisconsin. His work schedule allows him to NEVER miss a day of hunting during duck and goose season, which runs from Sep.1 to Dec.31. The only time he misses the action is the 2 weeks Eric goes to Canada each year chasing the snows, blues, Canadas, and mallards. After season is over he enjoys hunting pheasants with his lab at a local game farm, which he is a member at. In summer Eric likes running his lab in AKC hunt tests, and working with a dog trainer located just south of town. Eric recently started calling in Wisconsin state goose calling competitions, and will be entering other competitions in the future.

Eric is currently living in Green Bay with his very understanding and supportive girlfriend Heather and his chocolate lab, Maddy.

In spite of it all, becoming an Avery Pro-Staffer for Eric is quite an exciting opportunity to say the least! He is confident that he can bring many great ideas to the Avery team. Overwhelmed with energy, knowledge, and a positive attitude, he is always brainstorming to find a quicker or easier way for gear to be used or assembled.
