David started upland hunting with his father at age 5 and was immediately hooked. At the age of 12 he was introduced to waterfowl hunting, and today it is his true passion as he spends four days in the field each week as well as a month's vacation time hunting ducks and geese. David hunts Connecticut, Rhode Island, New York and Vermont on a regular basis and travels to the West coast, Canada or Mexico annually. In the spring, he chases turkeys to pass the time. David has been a waterfowl guide for 16 years and he annually donates hunts to youths on youth day.

In the summer months, David is a competitive free diver and competes in spear fishing competitions. Since his first place win in the 1997 Connecticut State Spear Fishing Championship, he has taken the top three places in the Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island State Spear Fishing Championships every year. In 2003, he and his Three-Man team won the United States National Spear Fishing Championship beating 130 of the top competitors in the US! In 1998 they won 3rd place in the US Nationals. David lectures on the art of free diving, spear fishing and waterfowl hunting throughout the New England area.

David lives in Orange, Connecticut with his wife Christine, their daughter Jessica, and sons Jake and Zak. He spends as much time in the field with his children as they are willing and able to share. David brings to the Avery Pro-Staff 25 years of experience and knowledge of waterfowl techniques over both land and water, and he loves teaching anyone who wants to take their hunting skills and success to the next level. He hopes to help expose hunters to the quality of Avery's many products and the wonderful world and art of waterfowl hunting.
