Growing up in Parsons, Tennessee, David spent much of his youth on the Tennessee and Beech Rivers where he began duck hunting before he could drive. David says duck hunting is more his obsession than his hobby, and anyone who knows him will agree 100%!

David works full time in the biomedical industry, but since 1998 he has missed only eleven days of Arkansas duck hunting, and his two sons, Hunter and Justin, hunt with him as much as their school and schedules allow. David also manages "the Goat Farm" which is a well-known duck club that he put together for the enjoyment of his boys and other fathers and children.

Since duck season only lasts 60 days or less, David got involved with retriever training as a way to extend his season into a year 'round event. "I trained my first Lab in 1989, and she was a natural talent" recalls David, "which was a good thing since I made every conceivable mistake!" Several dogs later, and after countless hours of training and judging hunt tests and field trials, David has been asked to help in the development of dog training products that will assist others in becoming better trainers. He truly enjoys designing and creating exactly the kind of equipment he would like to have in the field. "Doing seminars on retriever training, blind placement, use of decoys, the love of watching dogs work in the field and seeing kids grow and learn in the outdoors makes all the 'hard work' worth it," says David with his contagious smile.
